This essay proposes a reflection on the hand as a sensitive portrait of our action in the world.
The hand, in its multiplicity of meanings, suggests many ways of expressing the self—as a tool, conjugating countless verbs: knead, open, roll, mold, touch, fold, bend, engrave, twist, hold, cut, entwine, pour, lift, press, grasp, connect, saw, dig, light, slice, sand, polish.
Tactile-portrait as an expression of the subject-body’s sensitive domain.
This is not about nostalgia, but about revealing the forgotten hand as a tool of labor and expression—challenging the notion that handwork does not require thought.
The hand is not autonomous. It is the orthography of the soul.
